Tips

  • For French Saint-Martin matters, visit the Préfecture in Marigot or the Sous-Préfecture
  • The US dollar is the de facto currency on both sides (officially ANG on Dutch side, EUR on French side)
  • English is the primary language of government in St. Maarten
  • For visa matters: St. Maarten is not in the Schengen Area — separate visas apply
  • The French side (Saint-Martin) follows French/European Union law
